EVENT: Canada Day Animation in the Park

Come and celebrate with us July 1, 2009. It's a great way to spend a summer day with friends and family & See animation on a JUMBOTRON!

The celebration will be featuring a collaboration between the Black Powder Dancers, and Quickdraw Animation Society Aboriginal Animators: Keivin Yellowfly, Keegan Starlight, Christiana Latham, Elijah Wells and Angel Sanderson. The Black Powdered Dancers will be performing to live drummers, and a multimedia mix of New Animations produced for Canada’s Birthday. This performance will occur at 12:30pm at Prince’s Island Park, and at 7:45 at Olympic Plaza.

Quickdraw Animation is also excited to present a selection of animations produced through Quickdraw at two special screenings on the JUMBOTRON in Prince’s Island Park. At 1:00pm, come see "Tigerlily and the Warriors" by Angel Sanderson, "A Geekan Project" by Keegan Starlight, "My Point of View" by Keivin Yellowfly, "North Peak" by Trent Twoyoungmen and Jarrett Twoyoungmen and "Napi Dancing" by Elijah Wells. At 2:00pm come watch "2" by Kim Anderson, "Sea Song" by Richard Reeves, "A Recipe For Disaster" by Eric Hayes, "Fish and Bird in Space" by Jamie Tognazzini and "Zap Girl Makes Toast" by Chris J. Melnychuk.

Celebrate Canada's 142nd birthday with family and friends on Prince’s Island Park Wednesday, July 1st, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Island will be alive with music, food and hands-on activities for the whole family to enjoy! But the festivities don't end there. Join us in the evening at Olympic Plaza as we keep the party going with live performances and fireworks -- a great ending to another fantastic birthday celebration!
